Abstract:
In this paper, the development history and research status of nested Hall thrusters are reviewed for the high-power Hall electric propulsion technology in the field of space electric propulsion, the advantageous status of nested Hall thrusters in terms of discharge power, thruster size, weight and traditional Hall thrusters are sorted out, and the feasibility of the implementation of nested Hall thrusters is also analysed, and the possible application scenarios of nested Hall thrusters are also analysed, and suggestions on key technologies to be solved and research and development directions of nested Hall thrusters are put forward to provide reference for the future development of ultra-high power Hall electric propulsion technology. Finally, the key technologies to be solved and the direction of research and development of the nested Hall thrusters are proposed to provide reference for the future development of ultra-high-power Hall electric propulsion technology.
